A small daily discovery
populational
A world of people.
One country to find.
We give you the population. You name the country. Five guesses, with a nudge higher or lower after each one.
The rules & the numbers
Everyone gets the same country each day. A new puzzle arrives at midnight in New York (Eastern Time). Your guesses are saved in this browser.
“Higher” means the answer has more people than your guess; “lower” means fewer. Misspelled or repeated guesses don’t use a turn.
Every figure is a 2024 population estimate, rounded to a whole person—not a live count. There are 196 playable country and economy entries. The list includes Kosovo, Palestine, and Taiwan; Vatican City and dependent territories are not included.
Sources: World Bank, Population, total, with Taiwan from the 2024 medium projection in UN World Population Prospects 2024. One fixed snapshot keeps the puzzle consistent.
No account. No timer. No scores sent to a server.
